PBA, SBP finalize RP five accord

Basketball
association (SBP) executive director Noli Eala and PBA commissioner
Sonny Barrios meet again on Monday to iron out minor kinks
in the SBP-PBA partnership for the formation of the RP team
to the 2009 FIBA Asia championship in China.
Barrios
will discuss with Eala the package of assistance the PBA could
give the SBP on its short-term program for the national team.
“Of
course, two parties must first come to an agreement. We’re
not demanding and we’re open to suggestions. I’d
like to believe we would iron out whatever kinks there might
be,” said Barrios.
Cebu
City – “Pride and Passion” was the central
theme as the country’s newest and biggest regional basketball
league, Liga Pilipinas, opened its maiden season in simple
yet meaningful launching ceremonies held at the Grand Ballroom,
Casino Espanol de Cebu last Saturday night. >>
